Manager Herman Stadtlander supervises and chef Min Young cooks under the inspirational guidance of legendary chef Michael Statlander. With the Stadtlander family's philosophy of ethical food, at Haisai you can expect dishes deeply connected to the surrounding bounty of nature.All our ingredients are locally grown or raised on Eigensinn Farm, foraged from the surrounding countryside or sourced from neighboring organic farms. Our fish is fished from Georgian Bay, in the winter months produce is dug from our own root cellar. The wine list is selected from small vineyard Ontario wineries.Whether stinging nettle & potato soup, Eigensinn Farm pork Gyoza or wood fired pizza, our dishes are animated by seasonal flavors and textures both familiar and strange.At Haisai, the process of raising, growing and sourcing, fresh, local and organic ingredients, converting them into fine cuisine and serving it in reasonably priced dishes is our passion.
